Welcome to Vacation Bible School @ St. Mary the Virgin in Arlington!

This edition is called a Wilderness Adventure through the Sacraments.  It's jam-packed with great songs, crafts and fun activities for kids ages 4-11 (preK - gr 6) to help them grow in their Catholic faith.  The overall goals of this week-long program are to help the children better understand the seven Sacraments and deepen their love for Jesus.

The Cat. Chat VBS is designed as a 5 day program.  We will meet Monday - Friday from 8:45 a.m. - Noon. 

Each day of the Cat. Chat VBS includes:

• an Opening Assembly (20-25 min.)
• Everyone meets together for music & theme song, prayer, announcements, virtue demonstration, Bible verse(s), skit, and dismissal into groups for station rotations.
• 5 main stations (25 min. each) crafts, snacks, fun & games, music and faith:
• Adult volunteers (group guides) lead their group of children through 5 different stations.
• Each group will vary in size depending on the number of children who enroll.
• a Closing Assembly (10 -15 min)
• Everyone meets together for Cat. Chat song(s) of the day, announcements, prayer, take-home items & dismissal

The children will be divided into groups according to their age.  Currently we plan on dividing it up as follows ages 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, and 10-11.  Older kids (12 & up) are invited to assist in areas such as: music, skits, decorating, food prep, assistants for Station Leader or Group guides, etc.

Each day, the activities in this VBS program focus on a central them and virtue.  From the snacks and crafts to the music and games, each activity is designed to reinforce the day's teachings and enhance the child's faith learning experience.

The cost for parishioners is $20 per child and $25 for non-parishioners per child.  Checks are made payable to St. Mary the Virgin and the deadline is June 26th (no exceptions since supplies need to be purchased well in advance of the program).
